PUFFY EYES
It has happened to all of us at one time or another. You had a long night of crying and woke up the next morning with puffy eyes. It's like your eyes are screaming to the rest of the world "hey look at me, I've been up all night crying like a baby" Also, you are going to have a least a hundred people ask you over and over again "have you been crying?" Whether your puffy eyes are from a tear jerker of a chick flick, an ugly break-up, your hormonal or you just feel over-whelmed the cause of the crying doesn't matter because the treatment is all the same.
CHECK YOUR BAGS AT THE DOOR
Last night my oldest daughter who just started middle school had "one of those days". The kind where you forget to do things and you are feeling completely over-whelmed. So tired and frustrated she did what most of us girls do when we feel this way. She cried, a lot and although she felt much better in the morning her eyes told a different story. So, I did what any good mother would do and I helped her get rid of the "puffies." Here's how I did that.
1. Before she went to bed I placed 2 cucumber slices over her eyes. It soothes, cools and helps decrease puffiness.
2. In the morning I placed 2 teaspoons in the refrigerator for ten minutes to get them cold. Then I had her hold them on her eyes for 5-10 minutes to help decrease the puffiness. It worked like a dream!
3. You can also place your index fingers over the puffy area, starting at the inner part of eyes. Then gently drag you finger across towards your ears and down the side of your face. This will help to redistribute the extra fluid that is causing the puffiness.
4. I have also heard of using a tiny bit of Preparation H (yes, the hemorrhoid cream) on your eyes to decrease puffiness.
