BEE BEAUTIFUL!
What I love even more than chocolate at Halloween time is getting my girls all "dolled up" in their Halloween costumes. And believe me they LOVE having their makeup done almost as much as I love doing it for them! This year they wanted to be honey bees for Halloween. Their costumes are cute but DEFINITLY not warm enough for a cold Halloween Night. So, sorry girls , you are going to have to wear your coats over your costumes! But at least you get to wear MAKEUP!!! MOM'S BAG OF TRICKS
Because my daughters are 9 and 11 I didn't want their makeup to be "over done". I want them to look like sweet honey bees not grown-up Queen bees. I applied Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer to their faces and then I very lighty swept Bare Minerals, Mineral Foundation in Medium Beige over their foreheads, noses and cheeks. For a "bashful" blush I used Bare Minerals Blush in True. L'Oreal HiP Color Presso lip gloss in Swanky was the "lippie" of choice for my lady bees (they love the shine and that it tastes like vanilla cake batter). I then dusted their eyelids with Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow in , Vanilla to bring some shimmering light to their eyes. To hold their "bee hive hair do's in place I used Davines Defining Glam Power Hairspray. I finished up with their FAVORITE part of this Halloween costume , false eyelashes! I used Revlon Fantasy Lengths Lashes in Defining to create a long, feathery wink. Just as an F.Y.I. I DO NOT make a habit of letting my daughters wear makeup, let alone false eyelashes. It is only for Halloween fun!I hope you have a great Halloween! Please let me know what you plan on doing to have some Halloween fun this weekend!. Till then! B.
If you have young daughters of your own then you might want to check out my daughter's blog, The Gabchicks for fun kid stuff.
