OPI MATTE NAIL POLISH- THE NOT SO GLAMI-MANI
OPI MATTE NAIL POLISH
The newest trend in nail color from OPI is leaving me feeling flat and unexcited! I love OPI Nail Polish but the new matte finish does not impress me. The colors such as Lincoln Park After Dark and Strawberry Margarita are great but I definitely prefer them in a shiny finish rather than matte.
MATTE WORK
I wear nail polish because I like the "polished" look of my nails (hence the word "polish"). The matte finish left me with lack luster nails and my hands looked stubby and unkempt. It almost looked like I had painted my nails with paint primer. The color was flat with no dimension to it. It reminds me of the time I accidentally got a small amount of polish remover on my nails. It was just enough to take the shine off the polish. My nails looked so bad that I had to do them all over again.

I like to use scented candles to change the mood of a room and I also like to use different scented body lotions and oils from Bath and Body Works to relax and unwind from a busy day. The scent of vanilla, or as I like to call it, vanillahhhh! always relaxes me. To me the scent of vanilla is such a soft, "girly" scent. I like to warm vanilla lotion and vanilla body oil, mix it together and apply it to my body right before bedtime ( my little secret for a peaceful bedtime).
It doesn't matter what your fav scent is, we girls like to smell "pretty". It is something that we all have in common.

Short on time? Or are you like me who lives in an area where we haven't seen the sun in weeks? I have a few special events that I am going to and I will be wearing a dress and of course I want my legs and the rest of me to have a nice golden color. But since the sun has stayed hidden and refuses to show its face I haven't been able to sit out in the sun, thus making my body my unfit to be bare! This airbrush , spray on tan tanning product gives you a natural,"carmel kiss of color". I like the results I got with this product however, the color does not last for more than a few days. Which is okay since I only need it for the weekend.

BRIT'S WHAT'S HOT AND NEW BEAUTY REVIEW. L'OREAL HiP KOHL EYELINER
Today's tried and tested product is L'OREAL HiP Kohl eyeliner in Navy and Gold Kohl. At first glance I liked the "see through" bottle of this product because it allows you to get a good idea of what the color is really like. There is nothing worse than spending money on a product only to find out later at home that the color is nothing like you thought it would be!
You apply this powder eyeliner with an applicator that is a little harder and pointier than I would like. Now don't get me wrong, I like this type of eyeliner. I use powder eyeshadow daily for my eyeliner but I use an angled, soft brush to apply mine so using this applicator required a little bit of me applying it to the back of my hand first for practice. I do like the fact that you can create either a fine, defined line or go for the gusto with a thicker more pronounced line. The product is easy to smudge or blend which is perfect for creating a "smoldering, sexy eye"!
SWITCH THINGS UP A BIT!
1. Navy Kohl Eyeliner. Blond hair, light brown eyes, blue eyeliner? That is exactly what I thought at first too, but believe it or not the navy blue liner looked really nice on me. The navy liner is a nice way to change things up a bit in your beauty routine.
2. Gold Kohl Eyeliner. This is not a Disco Diva's gold liner! It is a beautiful, subtle golden color that will be sure to add some sparkle and intrigue to your eyes. This color is just what you need if you want that golden, bronzed goddess look this Summer.
BRIT'S NIT PICKS
The only problem I had with this product is while applying the eyeliner I had sprinkles of the liner on my face just below my eyes. When I tried to remove the excess liner on my face it smudged leaving me with streaks of blue liner on my cheeks.

Happy Friday to all! I can't believe that another week has flown by! I hope that your week was great and that your weekend is even better! I will be doing some shopping for our annual, up and coming vacation to the Jersey Shore later this month. My daughters and I will be shopping for some new earrings and I am sure that they will talk me into getting a few other "I absolutely need this too, ma" items! I must admit that it is fun to go shopping with the girls!
WHY I'M HAPPY TO HAVE BEEN BORN A GIRL!
It has always been an important turning point in a girl's life when they are allowed to finally get their ears pierced. I wasn't allowed to do so until I was 13. Wearing earrings is a simple way a girl gets to start flaunting her femininity (I mean that in a classy not trashy way). Earrings are such an easy way you can add a little "wow" to an outfit. Women (and girls) from 10 - 110 years old love wearing earrings. I know my grandmother never left the house without her "ears" (earrings) on and my daughters are the same way. My favorite earrings (next to diamond studs) are still silver hoop earrings especially when I am wearing my favorite pair of jeans. There are many reasons to love wearing earrings but the best reason I can think of is because they make us look GREAT!

PIT STOP. SECRET CLINICAL STRENGTH WATERPROOF DEODORANT
With the warmer temperatures here we are all in need of a dependable deodorant. The warmer the weather, the more we "glisten" (men sweat, ladies glisten)! I am not a serious sweater offender however, I do experience times when it feels like my internal temperature control has been turned way up to "blazing" and I need extra protection. I also find that when I am sunning at the beach or swimming in the pool my deodorant gets washed away leaving me high and not so dry!
DIARY OF DEODORANT DISASTERS
1. The "not-so-lovely" white marks on my shirt left behind by my deodorant under my arms.
2. Worst yet, you sweat! You find that after 2-3 hours your antiperspirant has failed you and leaves you ( and you underarms) all wet.
3. Hello B.O! Your deodorant gave up on you hours ago!

Time to once and for all put an end to embarrassing sweat and get your perspiration under control! I have tried and really wanted Dove deodorant to work for me. I love the way it smells and it does leave my underarms petal soft however, after a few hours of "normal" activity I found myself having to reapply this product. My personal choice for best bet to beat the heat is the new Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof Deodorant! It is long lasting and because it is waterproof, humidity, heat and water are no match for this deodorant dynamo! I stay dry and odor free even at the beach! If you are looking for a "healthy" alternative deodorant then I would give LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant a try. This product has long lasting results, smells great and conditions and soothes sensitive underarms.

Okay, may be just one hand! I love that this lip gloss comes in a "squeeze" tube.
