Supermodel Elle MacPherson, who made the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue into an annual institution, is now 45, but she hasn’t lost any of the curves that made her famous. She maintains her shape by taking her health seriously, she says.
“I have a very holistic perspective on health,” she said in an interview with UK tabloid News of the World.
“I do choose to look after my body from a Chinese medicine perspective, which promotes and maintains wellness rather than treats illness.”
MacPherson says she has acupuncture regularly and she sees a Chinese doctor who treats common ailments with herbs.“Maintenance is a concept for me across the board. For example, every six months I go to my doctor at Viveka in London to have ultrasound checks on my breasts, ovaries and uterus.” she says
With two children, sons Flynn, 12, and Cy, 7, to keep her busy, she says she values wellness over fitness.
“I feel I’ve discovered the things that are really important to maintaining health as I’ve got older because my body has become more sensitive,” she explains.

I was soooo excited to see Gwyneth Paltrow at New York's Fashion Week wearing the same nail color that I have been wearing and loving for the past few weeks! Looking for stronger, shiner hair? Then "mother nature" may have the answer. I came across an article from the March edition of Allure Magazine by Kristin Sainani called "Stronger, Shinier Hair". It discusses how Eucalyptus may be good for promoting stronger, healthier hair. The article talks about a study done where people applied a lotion containing a 3 % eucalyptus extract to one side of their scalp. It showed that the "newly grown hair had improved bend, elasticity and luster" than the "newly grown" hair on the untreated side. Researchers from the Journal of Cosmetic Science believe that the eucalyptus "treatment works on the hair follicles under the scalp by changing the protein structure of the emerging hair". Just as a note the study was conducted at Kao Brands research center which produces the Root Awakening line of John Freida hair products that contain the eucalyptus extract.

What is REALLY making you look older, I mean more mature? Some would say that it is those pesky grey hairs that have started popping up. Others might say that it is the laugh lines or the crinkles on your forehead. Myself personally, I would say that it is the "number 1 line" that I now have in between my eyebrows that makes me look older. Well, actually it could also be the stress from raising my children that is making me look older (only kidding girls!). What really is making us look older is skin discolorations due to previous sun damage and old acne scars. And when I say previous sun damage I am talking about the damage done while we were in our teens and twenties (for some like me that's a LONG way back!). So, of course now I am vigilant about wearing sunscreen but what do I do about those little unwanted brown patches on my face?
OH, LIGHTEN-UP ALREADY!
Here's the good news. There are of course many services that you can have done such as professional chemical peels to be "spot free" but these procedures tend to be on the pricey side. You can also get rid of your "age spots" by using creams that will OVER TIME lighten and fade these areas. One really good product is the Ole Henriksen Enlighten Me Pigment Lightening Serum. I only have 1 age spot (for now at least) but I do have a few discolorations due to past "breakouts" and I have found that by using the Ole Henriksen Enlighten Me every night over the past few weeks those areas have started to lighten-up quite a bit. I also have noticed and so has my hubby, that my face looks brighter and it has a nice glow to it! I do want to let you know that it takes time to see improvements in your discolorations. I have found this to be true for all products like this that I have tried, so don't get discouraged if you are not seeing immediate results.

I was scouring the makeup aisles in search of the prettiest eyeshadows for the Spring when I came across the new Maybelline Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow. Have you had a chance to check them out yet? Maybelline has taken "flat" eyeshadow to the next dimension. Maybelline's newest eyeshadow uses its "baked " technology that blends together 7 different pigments with uncrushed pearls for an "almost too pretty to use" eyeshadow. I found this eyeshadow to be very similar to the more expensive Laura Geller Baked Eyeshadow. However, the Maybelline eyeshadow gives you get the SAME unbelievable color as the "fancier brand" minus the big price tag.

I love the fact that 1/2 of the shadow is a beautifully marbleized shadow and the other half is a solid shade. This 2 in 1 shadow allows you to be able to get as crazy and creative as you like! To create my "dazzling eyes" I sweep the marbleized shadow over my lids. Then I take a small brush and use a lighter shade from the marbleized side to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and the area just below my eyebrows. To finish I use the solid shade as a liner on my upper lash line. If you are looking for a bolder color just sweep your brush across BOTH sides of the shadow to deepen the color.

"I object to celebrities sticking their toe in and stepping out again, like Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller's sister -- they'll be here for a couple of seasons and then they're off and we're still hanging around," he told reporters backstage after his opening show at London Fashion Week.
