PARIS -(Dow Jones)- French cosmetics giant L'Oreal SA (OR.FR) Tuesday said it is closing operations of Shu Uemura in the U.S. and shifting sales of the luxury brand's products to the Internet so that it can concentrate on its other high-end brands in the country.
A small number of employees will be affected and L'Oreal will make every effort to place them within L'Oreal's U.S. operations, a spokeswoman said. The company has about 26 employees, mostly sales people, working for the brand, which is known for its elaborate fake eyelashes.
L'Oreal has decided to focus on its key luxury brands in the American market, such as Lancome, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Kiehl's and Georgio Armani, the spokeswoman said.
L'Oreal's spokeswoman Tuesday stressed that the move was restricted to the U.S. market and would not affect the company's strategy for the brand elsewhere. FACE BRONZERS
I am on a quest for a beautiful but believable bronze glow for my face. But figuring out the right amount and combination of foundation and bronzer you should be using can be a tricky thing. Some bronzers have a reputation of leaving you with an unflattering, orangey tint to your skin so, you need to be careful when using a facial bronzer. I am using the Clarins Liquid Bronzer
for my faux glow and I love the look of my newly tanned complexion!
HOW TO GET THE BEST BRONZE FOR YOUR BUCK
I have been playing around with my makeup and I have come up with a great way to get a beautiful bronze glow minus the orange under-tone. To give my face a "faux sun-kissed glow" I mix 1/2 of what I would normally use of my Laura Mercier Tinted foundation with a small amount of the Clarins Liquid Bronze facial bronzer. I mix the bronzing concoction together in the palm of my hand and then apply it with a makeup sponge. My skin looks smooth, beautiful and bronzed (the safe way!) . By mixing the two together rather than layering them on top of one another helps to keep your skin looking natural and healthy not "cakey."
